ProtectorGlaze
ProtectorGlazeTM is the new and revolutionary peelable temporary glass protection product that may also be used for other non-porous materials / surfaces.
ProtectorGlazeTM is a water based, non-toxic, liquid applied peelable protective coating that quickly sets to form a clear, durable protective coating.
ProtectorGlazeTM is an easily applied and cost-effective solution to on-site glass damage. Once the surface is ready to use, simply peel off by hand (no tools or razor blades required) in one continuous sheet.
ProtectorGlazeTM can be applied to glass that has not been cleaned and will remove any existing site dust.
Conventional roll-based protective films tend to peel away from the glass, when subjected to moisture and UV. Non-hazardous, biodegradable and totally environmentally friendly, ProtectorGlazeTM provides the perfect alternative to roll-based protective film products.
Ask your window installer not only to provide protection to the frame, but also to use ProtectorGlazeTM for temporary glass protection.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
A Temporary Protective, Water Resistant Peelable Coating For Windows and Other Surfaces:
Colour: Clear When Dry
ProtectorGlazeTM is a Peelable coating formulated for use on windows that require temporary protection from other building trades. Apply ProtectorGlazeTM by roller.
The excellent shielding of ProtectorGlazeTM hides inside activities from outside view. The coating is transparent in colour that will allow natural diffused light into the building. When inside redecoration is finished, remove ProtectorGlazeTM by peeling, leaving the inside showroom window in sparkling clean condition.
ProtectorGlazeTM represents the ultimate in non-solvent, water borne, strippable coatings.
ProtectorGlazeTM contains no flammable solvents.
Advantages:
- Safe to use. Clear dry film.
- Water resistant when dry. Water cleanable when wet.
- Excellent hiding / shielding. Easy to use.
- Non-flammable.
- Creates one tenth of the volume of waste that conventional protective films create.
Application:
ProtectorGlazeTM is normally used as received. It can be applied by, roller, or brush. The coating dries, depending on humidity and film thickness, in 30 minutes to 4 hours. ProtectorGlazeTM should be applied to yield a dry film of two to six mils (.002" to .006") thick. The dry coating is resistant to attack by water and can be washed, if so desired. Application temperatures range from 15F. to 48o Celsius.. ProtectorGlazeTM dries upon water evaporation. Faster dry can be realized by simple placement of air fans to remove the water from the coating. Rollers can be cleaned with water immediately after film application.
Removal:
ProtectorGlazeTM is removed by peeling. Simply, pry a piece of coating in one corner and lift.
Flammability:
Water Resistant ProtectorGlazeTM presents no fire hazard as received, during, or after application.
Disposal:
ProtectorGlazeTM is formulated to exclude ingredients that are deleterious to the painting process, such as silicones, or to the water wash system, such as foam generating or foam stabilizing ingredients.
FIRST TIME APPLICATION:
Cleaning of equipment:
Wet coating is easy to remove. Dry coating is water resistant and washing equipment with solvents might be necessary. Prolong soak in water will help coating removal easier.
Immediately after application, brushes and rollers should undergo a thorough rinse with water. Make sure that all paint residues are removed.
APPLICATIONS
Windows
Apply ProtectorGlazeTM peelable protective coating to the windows prior to the commencement of the brickwork operation to prevent falling mortar adhering to the glass. A thicker second application on external window sills will give excellent protection. Apply internally prior to the internal trades operation commencing.

- It is recommended that glazing gaskets be inserted prior to applying ProtectorGlazeTM
- Ideally, glazing should be protected as it is installed; e.g. towards the end of a working day.
- When trained, an applicator should, dependant on site conditions, be able to cover between 25-50m 2 per hour.
- Wash out rollers with clean water after use.
- Any unused volume of product left in the roller tray may be returned to the storage drum providing it has not begun to set.
- Ensure all opened drums are resealed when not in use and during transportation.
- ProtectorGlazeTM has a shelf life in excess of 12 months when unopened.
