Megafilm LPS1207 Coverings
Megafilm and MegaSheild Floor protection materials are available in several flame retardant grades: Megafilm 15 LS-FR, 10LS-FR, 6LS-FR, HLS and MLS temporary covering- spanning a range of protection applications from heavy duty site conditions through to protection from dust, debris and liquid spillage. All Flame Retardant products are approved to LPS1207, complying with the National Building Specification (NBS) JCT and GCW Preliminaries clauses, and are manufactured and certified under the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) approved scheme. All give a high degree of slip resistance in accordance with COSHH, HSE recommendations. Megafilm and MegaShield products are backed by Megafilm technical support, providing assistance in products selection, installation and maintenance.

DESCRIPTION
Composition, Manufacture
Megafilm and MegaShield temporary protection materials are moulded plastic based sheeting, providing a unique pyramid structure that allows air beneath the sheeting and offers both anti-slip and impact cushioning benefits. A fire retardant additive is incorporated. Quality Control Checks are carried out both during manufacture and on the final product. Megafilm and MegaShield materials are all clearly marked with the product identification, validation certification, standard of approval (LPCB approved to LPS1207, Cert.No. 521 and manufacturers name.

LPS1207
Introduction
LPS1207 became effective on 1st January 1996 and is the first performance standard for protective sheeting/ materials used inside properties undergoing building or refurbishment. As a provision contained within the Joint Code of Practice Fire Prevention on construction sites, protection materials must comply with LPS1207
Benefits
Using Flame Retardant Megafilm� Systems will significantly diminish fire loading. Furthermore, the use of LPS 1207 approved products such as Megafilm� or TwinShield protection board, is an assurance that ample and reasonable steps have been taken to reduce fire risk. All products have the relevant accreditation body approval mark and manufacturers certificate number.
The use of non-certificated LPS 1207 materials could result in the withdrawal of insurance cover in the event of fire.
Quality Assurance
Loss Prevention Certification is an assurance of consistent product quality (megafilms Certification number is 521a. Only products that have been fully approved by the LPCB are granted a certification reference number. Such products must be clearly printed with valid certification number, manufacture�s name and the statement of approval
