TRAP DOOR SAFETY SYSTEM

Trapdoor Safety System can be opened from below to give access to the upper floor and can be closed flat to give a safe working platform with a safe spread load rating of 500kg per door. The system can be easily tailored to your site requirements with multi site usage which provides a simple long lasting and cost effective solution to minimise risk while increasing productivity.

The three safety doors can be used individually or in any combination to suite all stair openings. telescopic steel joists enable the trap doors to be fitted as a complete system which has been weight tested to 1500kg.

(The minimum bearing to all edges should be 150mm)

The safety access doors allow easy access and ingress of materials and the installation of fall arrest systems to the first and second floors. The doors can be raised vertically to allow installation of timber staircases while still protecting against the risk of falls from height, the kickboard attached to the edge of the doors also prevents debris from falling from above.

The trapdoors are constructed on a steel frame and are clad with 12mm external plywood which can be replaced if damaged to ensure that the trapdoor is kept in good working order. In a three sided stairwell with a party-wall situation we have a combination of extendable joists that are weight tested up to 1500kg. All trap doors can be easily lifted in to place for fixing to timber decks. No damage when removed, no waste of timber flooring or joists. One system solution to an industry wide problem.

Handrail Safety Posts

Ockwells Handrail Safety Posts can be used to form a temporary and reusable safety rail. Staircases and balustrades are often only installed once the build is complete to prevent damage during construction. The handrail posts should be secured using the appropriate fixings to timber decking, concrete floors and stairs to form a sturdy safety rail in the interim.

Safety Handrail Posts can be used whilst work continues to help meet the stringent Health & Safety regulations now imposed on construction sites, including the 2005 Work at Height Regulations, which state that protection barriers must be fitted for works carried out at a height.

Safety Handrail Posts are available in straight or corner posts. Each post is constructed from 30mm steel box section welded to a pre-drilled base plate. All brackets are pre-drilled 100mm high x 40mm wide.

Handrail Safety Post Dimensions

Post Height - 1070mm, Post Section - 30mm x 30mm, Base Plate - 150mm x 150mm

1070mm long 30mm x 30mm steel box section 150mm x 150mm base plate.

All the posts have a provision to screw a kickboard, midrail and handrail to form a sturdy safety rail.
